4 HORROR MOVIES OF ANNISA HAROEN'S CHOICE FOR HALLOWEEN 2016

To be honest, I prefer movies that had lots of emotion. I think, romance without comedy is just boring, as well as horror. So, I recommend these horror-comedy movies to watch for this year’s Halloween, don’t forget to put them into your bucket list, because you will be scared and laughed at the same time… ;)

1.       Shaun of The Dead.

I am a big fan of The Walking Dead series (before Rick and Michonne makes love :p). And Shaun of The Dead is to be coincidence is a parody about zombie but not a cheap one.

The scene at the beginning is very quite. It tells about Shaun (Simon Pegg) who had monoton- daily-routine life as electronic store employee. He lives with an old friend, Ed (Nick Frost) the unemployed, weird, slob and one of the causes Shaun dumped by his girlfriend, Liz (Kate Ashfield).

Shaun doesn’t realize that the city infected by zombies. He keeps walking to the minimarket without looking around. Whereas, there are a lot of bodies, blood, damage and of course zombies! Until Shaun and Ed find a women in the backyard. They thought the women was drunk, but they finally realized that the woman was a zombie.

And the scene start more quickly…

Shaun and Ed makes plan to rescuing his mother and ex-girlfriend. In this scene, you will find a lot of humor, touching things, annoyance and suspense.

2.       Dark Shadows

Two reasons why I like this movie so much are the gothic nuanced and the actor is my babe (in my head) Johnny Depp. Hahaa!

Tells about Barnabas (Johnny Depp) and his family who moved from Liverpool to build a city calls Collinsport in America. He grows to be rich, powerful, smart and charismatic. But nobody’s perfect, right? Yes, he is playboy.  Then, he broke the heart of Angelique (Eva Green). Too bad, Angelique is a witch. She cursed Barnabas into vampire and makes the woman he loves die. The incident made Barnabas buried in a coffin. 

Almost 200 years later, Barnabasis returned. He returned to his house and found Collin’s family lineage who had their own secrets. You will be entertained by the absurd of his family.

3.       Pee Mak

This one my fave horror-comedy movie from Thai. The story about Mak (Mario Maurer) who leaving his pregnant wife to the battlefield. After the war, Mak with his-four-ugly-dumb-crazy-friends back home because his wife had given birth. Sadly, he got the news that his wife had died, but he doesn’t believe. However, strange things started to fall on them. His friends began to realize if the woman who is the wife of Mak is a ghost.

The way their talking, their hairstyle, their body language, just makes me burst out laughing.

4.       The Cabin In The Woods

  

This is the craziest and genius concept for horror movie. Begins with five friends goes to the cabin in the middle of forest for a weekend. I know, it sounds typical for the opening. But, please read the tagline; “you think you know the story”.

They are being watched by freaky-psychopaths organization who use sophisticated tools to monitor and trap them. Lots of humor dialog, so much blood, memorable and unpredictable moment also.
