GAMES THAT INVITE GHOSTS

Wondering why a person wants to play the games like we’ve watched at the movie of Ouija The origin of Evil though it had consequences inviting demons? Based on my own experienced playing the game myself, back on my old days, actually there are four reason, namely:

1. Curiosity

Curiosity kills the cat, as they said but who doesn’t want to know more about the game, especially when you had just found out about it? People like to explore a new thing and when friends told you about something that you never heard before, it triggered the wonder inside your mind to see what the heck the game is.

2. There’s-no-such-thing-like-ghost thing until you see it yourself

You had told that the game could bring ghost to come but you think yourself as logic person and besides science never confirmed such thing as supernatural beings so you ignore the silly story and went along to play the games just to prove it’s wrong.

3. Show off

You’re the person who has triple guts so you just laugh when a friend tell you about the game, laugh even harder when you see your other friends look terrified as they heard such thing about the game, and eventually you volunteered yourself to play the game just to show them that you’re the real deal.

4. Addicted

When you realized you could sneak peek the future or knowing something of other people you don’t know from the game, then you started to play the game intently, especially when lots of people admiring your ability through that game.

For those who’re in group 1 and 2, you can wipe it by reading the reviews below so you don’t have to be curious or get dubious anymore, while for you who were in groups 3 and 4, you should also be read in order to know what to do so that the game will bring you no harmed, especially when you can’t stand the drift

These 7 games I had ever tried myself whether is true or not to bring ghost, just check it out:

1. OUIJA

To play this game you had to have an Ouija board, something that not much to sell in Indonesia, but it ain’t stopped us, as creative kids my friend and me make board from paper or cardboard, write each letter on it, and using pencil sharpener that had glass on it as a substitute of the planchette.

In Ouija movie there are three rules, Never Play Alone, Never Play at the Grave, Always Say Goodbye. In reality surely we never play this game alone, it will be more fun to bring our friend along so there are many question can be asked and we will laugh out loud to read ridiculous answered the board been respond, but rules that often to break usually the last one, sometime we forgot to say goodbye.

One of my friends who act as medium forgot to say goodbye once and the ghost really followed him to his house though we’re playing it at school. It makes him sick for week so his parent had to call paranormal to cast the spirit out.

2. JALANGKUNG

This is the original spirit game of Indonesia which nearly to Ouija. The difference is Jalangkung used dolls as stuffed. It was not truly doll to be precise but rather a thing made from scoop that you used to dip the water, wrap it with cloth or fabric, and attached pen or pencil at the bottom of its wooden handle so you could use it to write from top to bottom. After you read the spell the doll will stands for itself and it’s ready to play the game which is answering your questions.

Jalangkung was hard thing to do. It doesn’t always work, not too often compared to Ouija, and when we playing it we just want to know like what the original spirit games from Indonesia that was. Surely you should be more patient when questioning your question because it couldn’t gave you quick answered though it answered more accurate. Don’t forget to say goodbye as well, like Ouija the spirit that permeated the doll will haunt you down if you’re being reckless.

3. CHARLIE-CHARLIE CHALLENGE

The original game from Spain and after translated to English it changed to Charlie-Charlie Challenge. It old game exactly but get popular recently in digital era and many videos on Youtube shown how the games played. Take two pencil and paper with the words yes and no. To play Charlie-Charlie you have to be smart to choose a question because it can only be answered with a 'Yes' or 'No' in the way the pencil moving toward an answer.

There are no restrictions to play alone, because it encourages curiosity to see if the game was indeed able to answer questions such as Ouija. But I ended it after three attempts of failure because the upper pencil didn’t move even once, but I said it with saying goodbye though. Better be careful than sorry.

4. BABY BLUE

This game is also coming from Spain. Friends who told this game challenge me to do so, by standing in front of a mirror with hold-the-baby style like and saying the word ‘Baby Blue’ thirteen times. He said if my hand felt heavy I had to throw the invisible 'baby' quickly to the toilet and flushing it down, otherwise the devil known as the baby's mother would come and scratching my body up like hell.

As I did I felt nothing in my hands, after waiting for about five minutes like an idiot inside the bathroom and no strange things occurred on the mirror I decided to ends this. Apparently as I walk out the bathroom my right arm snagged the door handle by accident and the friction blistered my skin, whether that was meant as 'scratched' if we don’t throw the baby? Well, I don’t know…

5. TSUJI-URA (CROSSROAD DIVINATION)

This game came from Japan and it’s already hundreds of years old, also known as tsuji-ura. In Japan believed, demons or spirits passed through the intersection like a remote area or the quiet one, so we had to find intersection such thing to playing it. The trick was standing at the crossroads and scrubbing some comb with finger you had to say the magic word three times. After that all you have to do was waiting for someone crossed by.

When passersby came, we had to cover our faces and ask our fate. If that’s ghosts or spirits of the dead he will tell our fate then, usually they notified bad luck so no wonder some people who take the listen decide to commit suicide then.

What happens when I played this game with two of my high-school’s friends after school hour? That passers-by was told us that we would lose money in the future of our fate and after lowering my hand as covers I see a man holding a knife standing in front of me, he ordered me and my friend to handed him our wallets.

6. HYAKUMONOGATARI

This game was once created to test the courage of Samurai. When I prepared my students to face martial art tournament, I've practiced this game to some of those selected to raise their morality to win. Many variations can be done but the version I’ve done was with 16 candles and one mirror.

One by one, four boys whom I choose, telling the scariest story they had ever heard or experienced and put out the candles’ flame each ends. According to the myth, after the last candle turned off demons will appear as soon as we look into the mirror and the person who’s not surprised or scared to see the devil’s face they will gain tremendous courage to face anything.

After the light of 16’th candle went off we look into the mirror but didn’t see anything, I feel a bit disappointed because it doesn’t work like the myth had said but being amazed when those four boys get title as champion at each classes. Does that mean the devil was too scared to show up? Or the ghost was actually appeared on that mirror that night but we – with our highly confident – simply couldn’t see him at all? The question I never keep, no matter what, as long as they’re champions fine by me…

7. CLOSET GAME

It’s also one of those games to tests your guts that I ever did at a friend's house, but we replace the match with flashlights because we don’t want to risk the clothes of his father – especially the expensive coats he had – get burnt.

We must go into closet belong in some room. The lights in that room must be turned off as I entered into the closet at midnight. After waiting a while we turn on the flashlight inside. Nothing happened to me when I was inside but at the final round friend of mine who get the last turn experiencing the flashlight extinguished several times and he told us that he hear a voice whispering from behind to his ear.

No wonder he came out of the closet with a scream and shut the closet door with his foot as loud as it has without even dares to turn around. When we checked the battery it surely little bit worn out after we use it one another but he still persevere that the voice was there…that he heard that voice for real… and till now he never dare turn off the lights in the room where the closet was.

So which game you've ever tried?
