The US election between Hillary
Clinton from Democrats and Donald Trump from Republics surely attract many
attention throughout the country itself. What they did or speak drives public from the main actors,
President Obama, who’s been busy reducing racial conflicts or passing the law
and regulation against firearms possession for the sake of eliminating the gun
shot occurs on school or public property in that country.
The battle of
candidate happened recently and gets increase so both emerge as best
representatives for each. The tense increased each day to the final day on 8
November 2016, which is tomorrow, right?
We’re in Indonesia only knew two candidates
from these two strong parties but the fact is there are three other candidates
for the election, and they are:
1. Hillary Clinton
(Democrat Party)
2. Donald Trump
(Republic Party)
3. Gary Johnson
(Libertarian Party)
4. Jill Stein (Green
Party)
5. Darrell Castle
(Constitution Party)
Speaking about US Presidential’s election, it always keeps
me remembering of Stephen King’s novel title The Dead Zone. This novel had also
been adapted to the big screen which cast by Christopher Walken as the
protagonist, Johnny Smith, and Martin Sheen as Greg Stillson.
The big picture was like these, a teacher named Johnny Smith who had a car accident turned into
coma for a very long time. When he awakes, Johnny finds the fact that the world
he knew has changed a lot. His girlfriend had become another man's wife, his
mother went mad and died, and the coma that damaging his brain apparently
brings psychic ability for him so he could see future while holding the hands
of others.
On the other hand there’s an
ambitious man, once a book salesman who become property business owner, who had
career as a politician and want to reach the highest position as President of
the US through sympathetic campaign of independent participants. The craziest
thing is, the American people that fed up with party bureaucrats fall in love
with Stillson’s sloppy style that also entertaining so the green horn becoming
strong candidate so other candidate get helm.
The road that taking by Stillson
are not always the clean one. As a property businessman or politician, Stillson
often uses devious means to trap potential investors - that he forced to fund
his campaign - or else in an attempt to topple his opponents. On that path he
finally met Johnny at the house of one politician whose son was being taught by
Johnny.
The encounter bring anxiety for
the teacher, Johnny always see dark future in his dream about Stillson when he
managed to become President of USA. He’s vision showing mass destruction of the
world and Stillson will be the next Hitler. Stillson had agenda to restore the
glory of white race and Anglo Saxon in America. Furthermore The Dead Zone filled
with the story of how Johnny Smith tried to kill Stillson and doing his effort to
prevent Stillson from becoming President.

Funny, I see many similarities
between Greg Stillson and Donald Trump that made me wonder whether the
character of King was really pure fiction or prediction that is seen in the
future - in this case this period in this presidential election year - and those
similarity includes:
1. Property Business
Owner Background
As Stillson who held construction business company, we know Trump as a successful real estate and
property entrepreneurs before he established himself as celebrity with his own
brand through reality show such The Apprentice. And as a salesman, Stillson
also has lot of experience dealing with people, just like Trump.
2. Representing
Independent Candidate on the Start
As a new comer and contender, no
party glanced at Stillson for he had no track record as a politician. Don’t
want to give up on that situation, Stillson pronounce himself as an Independent
candidate and his decision meet the track when public pay attention for him. Before
getting in recent state, Trump had dashed his hopes as President long gone and resigned
from Democrats who had raised him from 2001 to 2009. Talking the long story
short, Trump then declared itself ahead of independent candidates and after
that he was recruited by Republican.
3. Dislike by Animal
Stillson been attacked by a dog
when he was a book salesman. The dog chasing him along the main street of his
potential buyer but Stillson managed to kill the dog brutally. The funny thing
is we also know that Donald Trump is dislike by animals. Do you remember of
ridiculous incident when he was photographed with falcons that finally attacked
him? I think that was not just something coincidence, right? I mean not many Politicians
actually doing animal photograph and attacked by them at that time…
4. Attacking Political
Opponents Aggressively In Outspoken Style
Stillson style who likes to talk
frankly different from politicians who were trained to speak polite-but-contains-double-word-that-was-difficult-to-understand-by-public
found what they need, someone who talk and think like them and turned out he
was easy to be loved because they also liked how common man like Stillson
making fun – sometimes also mocking – other candidates who came from politician.
See how Trump does same thing with the other party through racial issues? The
latest was about Hillary’s health.
5. Similar Perspective about
Caucasians as Superior Race In The World
In a novel it so-called shortly about
Stillson admiration for the thought and concept of KKK, that noblest race in
the world is white race, so that other races had to be removed. In fact we can
see for ourselves when Donald Trump tried to get rid of Hispanics from America
and his rigors statements of forbidding moslem people to enter.
Might Greg Stillson in The Dead
Zone really be Donald Trump in real life? If it’s might and Donald Trump wins
the election, perhaps what Johnny Smith sees about the world’s future will
become reality, so The Dead Zone not only a fiction manuscript but also something
you called it prophecy….
But don’t forget, Greg Stillson
didn’t have tough opponent because all of his rivals had him remove with dirty
tricks. On the other hand, Donald Trump whose strongest candidates for Republic
had to face strongest opponent on the election before he becomes the next
Hitler and her names Hillary Clinton.
The fact is fellow Americans want
to make history, again, to have first woman as their president, after they got
the first color President of The U.S on Obama previously. So what happened if the
power goes to Hillary Clinton? Well, it has never recorded in history woman
ruler who became a tyrant but it always possibility a pioneer will ever risen
even Hillary Clinton though…
Both candidates have an edge as
well, Trump had historical records to raised from adversity, not once but
twice, and that’s something America need at this time when their economies crushed
and beaten by China. On the other side Hillary had the attitude to forgive
people - as shown when she forgave her husband's affair with Monica Lewinsky -
Hillary is believed to be able to establish better cooperation with Eastern power
that growing enormously these days.
Well, whoever it is we'll see how the electoral process took place on 8 November and let us hope The Dead Zone prophecy may not happen if Trump wins...
