Ghostbuster movie was phenomenal
because when another horror movie describes how ghosts or monsters scare us in
their many ways it showed us that human can be terrifying them too with our
science, knowledge, and hi-tech tools.
I’m one of Ghostbuster’s film
whose crazy for the act of the couples, Peter Venkman, Ray Stanz, Egon
Spengler, and Winston Zeddemore and as I remember the latest movie of
Ghostbuster was Ghostbuster 2 that runs on 1989 which cast by Bill Murray,
Harold Ramis, Dan Akroyd, and Ernie Hudson, where Harold Ramis and Dan Akroyd
were the scriptwriter for those two.

After 30 years without any news,
Ghostbuster finally released again but this time the cast replaced by the
girls. A set of smart and brave woman who was the interest of Hollywood movie
industry to showed girl’s power and feminist hegemony at present days, and they
are Melissa McCarthy as Abby Yates, Kristen Wiig as Erin Gilbert,Kate McKinnon
as Jillian Holtzmann, and Leslie Jones as Patty Tolan

The hunting for the ghost was
such a cool theme indeed, not to mention the crazy thing those women does till
the end of the story but for your information Ghostbuster is not the only film
that had ghost hunting theme, at least 8 films I had in mind and they are :
1. Thirteen Ghosts (2001)
It was the story of eccentric conglomerates
named Cyrus who collecting 13 ghosts in a giant machine called Ocularis
Infernum (Eye of Hell) to generate its engine, but he only manage to capture 12
ghosts. In his effort to catch the last one Cyrus was killed by 11 ghosts who he
had collected before.
2. The Exorcist (1973)
The film is one of the oldest films
that started the era of hunting the ghosts or spirits topic. Two protagonist,
Father Karras and Father Merrin, tried to help a 12-year-old girl, Reagan
MacNeill, who possessed by the devil by performing devil ritual exorcism which
forbid by church. Though they succeed to cast the devil away from the little
girl but both ends up dead horribly.
3. Poltergeist (1982)

that haunted by ghosts who terrorize the emergence of a number of the family.
Only then Eric and Amy know that their house stood in a mass burial ground of
the Indians, but it was too late until the ghost kidnaps their youngest child,

5. Constantine (2005)
The near death experience experienced
made John Constantine lived in parallel worlds. His ability to know the ins and
outs of the spirit world makes him ultimately help people plagued by ghosts. Uncommon
ways to enter spirit world was practiced by Constantine and one of them which
made me astonished was when he’s drowning himself in the bathtub to get into
the spirit realm. And his trick to put ghost move from the girl to the
mirror…it was something beyond imagination…
6. Deliver Us From Evil (2014)
Taking from real life event of
veteran police officer at NYPD (New York Police Department) named Ralph Sarchie
who switched his professions to become a pastor who specialize in exorcism.

7. The Sixth Sense
Had a sixth sense ability to see
the other world is incomplete if you do not have the ability to catch a ghost.
'Catch' in this case is a term of Malcolm Crowe, a psychiatrist who tries to
help Cole Sear who’s always plagued by ghostly apparitions. Through the science
of parapsychology and mental Dr. Crowe manages to make Cole built some
relationship with the ghost that haunt the kid and assist Cole to help them so
they no longer bother him.
8. The Possession (2012)
It was the story of an old box of
Israel which is used to lock the existence of ghosts. When the box was held by
people who do not know about the spirits inside, especially a child, they
slowly mastered by it and it try so hard to take the soul of a child. Releasing
the spirit only could be done by performing a ritual ceremony in Jewish custom.
