KRAMPUS

Will you survive this Christmas?

Well, after following many news that showing clues about apocalypse – just name it from blood moon, earth quake, economic bearish, volcanoes, and moving island – I think it's only by the blessing of The Lord that we could survive unto Christmas this year...but wait a minute...there’s one thing left to be aware of, and that's Krampus...

Krampus was an Austro-Bavarian Alpine creature that kidnapped and punished children who misbehaved during Christmas. He sure is an opposite character of St. Nicholaus or someone we known as Santa Claus that gave present to the good and nice kids. But nowadays, the myths were rarely unknown for many people, mostly they who didn’t live in Europe. The monster of Krampus made bad wishes of bad children came true so they became a life witness how cruel he was if the spirit of Christmas died

Is it the cause of Universal and Legendary’s logo turned to ice at the beginning of the movie? I’m sure hope not...but that was awesome considering they never had done that...

But that’s exactly what happened to Max when this Christmas starting to become the most horrified thing for him after the arrival of his aunt’s family.  Stevie and Jordan, daughters of Aunt Linda often mocked him and they embarrassed him at the dinner table when they read his wish letter to Santa Clause. Angry and disappointed of chaotic Christmas this year, Max writes another letter to Santa then. Saying that he doesn’t want Christmas to come and wishing he’s family vanished...and that was the beginning of entire disaster...

The next day snow pouring heavily and in a sudden there’s no sign of living thing around their house. The electricity and phone is dead and Beth who worried about her boyfriend asked for permission to check on him. But she’s attacked by Krampus on the way there and makes her parent worried because she’s not coming back at the time. Tom and Howard went to find for her and before Howard get attack they found out that some mysterious creature had torn the neighborhood up. No one left beside them.

Omi Engel know what’s coming, that’s why she ordered to keep the furnace burn, and tell them about the dark part of her life when she got involved with Crampus when she was child. Like Max, she hate Christmas and wished everybody in her village was gone. Her wished came true, Krampus taken all people in his Village and her parent as well...leaving her alone in sad tragedy...which haunted for the rest of her life.

– I think it’s cool when they put animation to describe Omi Engel’s past life about Krampus...so that’s why this film could count as a fantasy film

And Krampus really plays them like a cat playing mouse, not only frightening them with the harsh effort to get into the house, Omi Engel said he’s the shadow of Santa Claus so he made similar ways as Santa did when entering the house, which is from the chimney and using Minions and Sled, but he also doing Trojan strategy to sneak up by delivering present bag that contain his weird armies...and that armies are who finally succeed to mesh up the house of Engel.

The end of this movie thought to be something classical when Max wake up from his sleep and found out that he’s family is alright but I’m sure you’ll see much different ending that make this film gloomy but also sentimental for me. I wrote short story about bad Christmas myself, in that story I create a character called Black Santa for Black Christmas – contrary from Red Santa and his Red warm Christmas – but it never been published yet because I felt that character is too violent...but one thing for sure, we surely can’t lose the spirit and love of Christmas, especially for our family, because it will killed not only yourself but also people around you...

So, I think let us keep the furnace in our heart burned and be survive until the Christmas come...because if you don't, he will come to take and not to give...
