2017 seems to be filled with franchise of horror movie that
had strong character and certainly worth to watch, let's take a look at the hit
list so that we can set aside the dollar to drop by at the cinema or buy DVD to
test our balls:
AMITYVILLE: THE AWAKENING
Speaking about horror, surely it
wouldn’t complete without haunted house theme, and this time the legendary haunted
house of Amityville will came back this year with its new released titles Amityville:
The Awakening that directed by Frank Kalfoun and is scheduled to be released in
America in January 2017.
BYE BYE THE MAN
The new character of creature in
horror is always interesting to watch, and The Bye Bye Man is said the one that
be able to master and control human soul for doing sadistic killings by just
saying or thinking his name. It will be cast by pretty actress, Faye Dunaway
and Carrie-Anne Moss, and will release in January 2017.
Shamara is back to haunt the big
screen this year through Rings, no one had doubt this figure always make hearts
dislodged whenever it appears from the well after the victim watched the
forbidden video. The film is scheduled to be released February 2017.
GET OUT
Blumhouse always had strong character
of ghost or creepy thing for producing horror movies despite many new themes
like The Gallows and Sinister. The story about this movie is about mystery of
the disappearance of local black people who apparently cause by awful mystery.
The film will be released February 2017.
A CURE FOR WELLNESS
An ambitious corporate executive sent by his company to
investigate a health center. It turned out that the place has an unexpected
secret and when he almost reveals the secrets his sanity was questioned. Let’s
watch this psycho-horror movie that will release it in February 2017.
LEATHERFACE
The film is a sequel of the successful Texas Chainsaw
Massacre franchise that became legendary horror movie in 1974. The psychopathic
butcher attached to the chainsaw as a killer tool will return to terrorize the
big screen in March 2017 but too bad that the beautiful Alexandra Daddario doesn’t
get the role.
ALIEN: COVENANT
I watched this futuristic horror
movie since the era of Sigourney Weaver. The Alien Monster is back to perform
solo in Alien: Covenant, directed by Ridley Scott and Michael Fassbender
Leondardo who catched the success when he’s playing as Magneto and Assasins
Creed. The film will be released May 2017.
WORLD WAR Z 2
Successfully escape from Zombie
attack in first sequel and won a big profit, Brad Pitt make the returned with its
sequel. In this film, Pitt will play as the main role and also becomes Producer
at the same time. The film is planned for release in June 2017.
DARK TOWER
Who had read Stephen King’s novel
title Dark Tower, would agree that it should be adapted to the big screen. Cool
actor Idris Elba will cast as the main star while Stephen King himself became
Producer and scenario writer of the film that had release scheduled in July
2017.
ANNABELLE 2
According to the storyline in first
film I had expected it would sequel for Annabelle. Whether in this second
sequel Annabelle will haunt the girls who handled the killer doll to Warner
couples? Just don’t missed Annabelle 2, which is planned to be released in
August 2017.
IT
Stephen King had not done yet
this year, after launching Dark Tower, the Horror King also made a remake of IT
that was gained a success in the eighties. King also handled a screen play of
this clown killer movie that was scheduled to be released in September 2017.
FRIDAY 13TH
The success of the sequel of
Friday the 13th in the eighties made it conceived to be remake with a slight of
modern era. Is Jason will be more sadistic than the original form? We have to
wait for the movie to be released this October 2017.
INSIDIOUS CHAPTER 4
The final part of Insidious
always worth to wait and Insidious Chapter 4 will add the exciting story of
Elis, the psychic who can roam the supernatural realm. The film is directed by
Adam Robitel who made successful debut through The Taking of Deborah Logan and
will be released in October 2017.
SAW: LEGACY
This franchise seemed never run
out of stories after it makes the initial debut in 2004 that made James Wan’s name
famous as a director to Hollywood. After his last film in 2010 with Saw (The
Final Chapter), the film is come back from its six years hibernation and will
be scheduled for release in October 2017.
GOD PARTICLE
Producer J.J Abram enliven 2017 with
his sci-fi horror movie, the third installment of Cloverfield titled God
Particle. Remember when the heroine turned toward the big city to join the
fight against the aliens in 10 Cloverfield Lane? Will he story continuing in
the movie that will be released in October 2017? Just wait and see…
JEEPERS CREEPERS 3: CATHEDRAL
For thousands of years Creepers always comes back to the
world every 23 years to prey humans for 23 days. A monster who had similar behavior
of bear returned from his hibernation of 23 years and finally surfaced 13 years
after its last film, Jeepers Creepers 2, in 2003.
So get your ass to the cinema and don’t forget to read my
